NORLAND NANNIES LEARN TO SKID
![]()
The Norland College of Nannies came and did their end of year skid control training with us in June 2011. They have been coming to us for over 6 years and we believe they find the training invaluable for their future employment skills.
The nannies take over the skid pan course for two whole days to learn the skills of front and rear wheel drive skid control, together with ABS and cadence braking exercises. We always make it great fun and competitive with the time trial at the end to find the fastest nanny of the event!
They tweeted "Wow! Hands still shaking from great Skid Pan course with our students. Crucial life saving skills every nanny should possess".
YOUNG DRIVER PROJECT

YOUNG DRIVERS (UNDER 25) EVENTS:-
In association with Avon and Somerset Police we are pleased to be supporting them in their Young Driver's Awareness Project for another year. The project is aimed at young drivers (under 25) who are the highest risk category for road collisions/deaths.
We will be attending some of the events they are organising to help the young drivers in understanding the importance of car control and consequences of speed and awareness. The aims of the project are:-
- To prevent further road deaths amongst young drivers.
- To promote safe driving to the under 25s to reduce the risk of offending and/or collision.
- To promote the Choices and Consequences Scheme to those who have offended.
- To promote the Road Traffic Collision demonstration at Audi.
- To promote the Ed Case Promotions (established by the parents in memory of their son who was killed in a RTC last year and who are fund raising to promote driver safety).
Event dates:
Sunday, 12th June - 15:00-19.00 hours at Tesco, Old Mills, Paulton
Saturday, 16th July - 13.00-18.00 hours at PEASEDOWN ST JOHN PARTY IN THE PARK.
Thursday, 21st July - 18.00-20 hours at Audi Showroom, Peasedown St John
The tesco event will have a static display to promote the other two events, and encourage any one aged under 25 that drivers to attend the other two events. We will be attending the Party in the Park and the Audi Showroom events. There will be the opportunity for attendees to enter a 50/50 car competition where the person that identifies the most faults on the car will be entered into the prize draw. Whilst at the Audi showroom they will replicate a Road Traffic Accident along with the A&S Police RPU (Radstock), Avon Fire and Rescue Service (Radstock) and the Great Western Ambulance Service.
All events will be FREE to attend and are aimed at all young drivers under the age of 25. If you know anyone with a youngster that would benefit from attending there is no need to pre-book just turn up. We look forward to seeing you there and we will be OFFERING FREE SKID CONTROL TRAINING for TWO young drivers attending the Audi RTC demonstration!
